The Fountainhead

After he gives a rousing testimony/summation* equating altruism with idiocy and slavery, Roark (Gary Cooper) is acquitted of the bombing of the Cortlandt Project. Wynand (Raymond Massey), in shame over caving to the pressure of his Board of Directors, hires Roark to design the Wynand Building, and then politely kills himself; thus paving the way for Roark and Dominique (Patricial Neal) to marry.

*Anybody else notice that the Prosecutor was somehow too stupid to cross-examine Roark? I guess Rand’s philosophy makes perfect sense when the opposition is mute.
