Rama (Iko Uwais) has been undercover in prison for two years, getting close to Uco (Arifin Putra) who is the son of one of the most powerful crime lords in the city. After Rama saves his life in a botched prison attack, Uco gets Rama a job with his father’s organisation but Uco is unhappy about the stalemate between his father and the Japanese gangsters who are the other powerful faction in the Jakarta underworld.

Uco orchestrates the assasination of one of his father’s top assassin’s in an attempt to spur a gangland war with the Japanese but his father does not want bloodshed and allows the Japanese to take some of his territory to avoid a conflict. Eventually Uco decides to work with Bejo (Alex Abbad), another high level gangster, to eliminate his father and take over the organisation.

Rama is almost killed by Bejo’s thugs but eventually fights back to kill all three of Bejo’s chief killers; Baseball Man, Hammer Girl and Prakoso. Whilst having dinner with Bejo and the corrupt police commissioner, Uco recognises a tattoo on Bejo’s wrist that is the same gang sign as the prisoners that tried to kill him whilst in prison, and that Bejo has orchestrated his betrayal of his father. When Rama burst in, Uco kills both the comissioner and Bejo with a shotgun but Rama stabs Uco to death.

As he leaves the restaurant, the Japanese have arrived, but Rama doesn’t fight. “I’m done,” he says.
