This documentary depicts the shocking true story of David Kellman, Edward Galland and Robert Shafran. It is publicly known they were identical triplets, born on July 12, 1961 -in reality, there was a fourth brother who died at birth-. They were separated at birth and given in adoption to three different Jewish families. They led separate lives (coincidentally close to each other within a 100-mile radius, but without ever knowing about each other during that time) and, in 1980, at the age of 19, through a college connection, got together and met for the first time. From then on, they became a worldwide phenomenon of media and news lore like few times seen before and their lives were forever altered.

Along with all the wonder, amazement and hilarity from most of the footage and interviews, in showing how awesome the triplets’ lives seemed to be past 1980, after growing up in what seemed to be respective normal family circumstances, there is light shed on some very dark and disturbing facts about their origins and aftermath:

In the end, title cards state that after what we have seen in the film, the Jewish Board agreed to provide David and Robert with the requested study records (over 10,000 pages of them); unfortunately, they were inconclusive and did not say anything either about any other twins involved in the study. The final shots of the interviewees all concur with the fact that there might still be so many people out there, affected by this study, who could have a twin and not even know it. The credits roll with images of the brothers growing up.
