King Kong

Fred Wilson (Charles Grodin) captures Kong, and puts him on display in a garish public spectacle. Kong escapes his chains, grabs Dwan (Jessica Lange), and climbs the skyscraper that most resembles his home–the World Trade Center. Once at the top, Kong seems to realize tht he’s doomed. He gently places Dwan out of harm’s way. An all-out attack by military aircraft mortally wounds the ape, and he falls to his death. The Petrox Oil executives, in a perfect example of hubris, try to get in one more photo opportunity with Dwan, and don’t seem to appreciate the fact that it was their own desire for glory that killed Kong.

The original version of this movie was released in 1933 Word is that Peter Jackson is working on another remake, for an anticipated 2005 release.
