The Secret Lives of Dentists

Not able to face the high probability that his wife Dana (Hope Davis) is cheating on him, David (Campbell Scott) is filled doubts and unable to confront her. He is finally struck with a serious case of the flu/gastroenteritis. Eventually, everybody in the household gets sick (including Dana and the couple's three daughters). One of the daughters gets such a high fever that David, himself, still battling the illness and somewhat delirious, has to take her to the emergency room on his own. Back from the hospital with his daughter in more stable condition, David finally confronts his wife about the infidelity and vents his bottled anger by throwing a few objects around the dining room. The scene cuts to David checking up Dana's teeth at their common dental practice, alluding to the fact that they have decided to stick together.
