Radio sacrifices his own tube to fix the master computer who restores Rob’s thesis and warns him of Mack’s plan to ship the animals to a labratory for animal testing. With Chris’ help, he pursues Mack. The appliances(minus radio) and Ratso follow Mack and attract the attention of the police. Mack is arrested and the appliances and animals recovered. Maisie, having gained a new respect for Ratso allows him to be the first thing her kittens see when they open their eyes. Each of the animals recover and go off to new homes, Ratso living with Rob and Chris. Rob graduates, asks Chris to marry him, and together, with the appliances and Ratso, the couple leave for their new life together.
