The Long Goodbye

Robert Altman's version of a Raymond Chandler novel.

Philip Marlowe (Elliott Gould) helps Terry Nichols escape to Mexico and then learns that Nichols really did kill his wife. Marlowe tracks him down and kills him. Marlowe never does find his cat.
