Mean Streets
(1973)

Although it should seem incompatible with his religious life, Charlie (Harvey Keitel) has to collect protection money for local wise men.

He's in love with Teresa who's epileptic, hence his uncle Giovanni's disapproval (he sees that as a serious mental disorder).

Charlie's cousin, Johnny Boy (Robert De Niro), becomes more and more uncontrollable as the movies goes and he seriously pisses off local mobster Michael who finally gets a hit man to empty a gun into their car.... so ends the flick.

According to Scorsese, they all survive, even though Johnny Boy has been hit in the neck.

Thanks Mirko!
